President
Tara Thornton is the cofounder of Freedom Angels, established in 2019. A political strategist, human and civil rights advocate, and grassroots organizer, she has over a decade of experience working at the local, state, and federal levels, with a strong focus on California and the State Capitol. Tara entered politics as a mom defending her child from government overreach, after recognizing the growing disconnect between decision-makers and the needs of children and families. She believes change is built from the ground up, starting at the local level, and is dedicated to helping build the world we want for our children, rooted in freedom.
Denise Mendez
Vice President & Secretary
Denise Aguilar Mendez is the cofounder of Freedom Angels, established in 2019. A community activist, organizer, and political strategist with over a decade of experience inside the California Capitol, she brings a grassroots approach to civic engagement. As a wife and mother, Denise entered politics after recognizing the lack of true representation for families. She is passionate about making politics accessible and empowering everyday people to get involved. Denise believes change starts at the local level and is dedicated to showing her community that no matter their background, they have the power to shape a better future for their families.
Nicole Pearson
Treasurer
Nicole Pearson is a constitutional attorney and founder of FACTS LAW TRUTH JUSTICE, a human and civil rights law firm and advocacy group. Pearson has sued Presidents, governors, counties, public and private university systems, school boards, and other government and institutional actors to protect children, enforce constitutional rights, and defend individual freedom. With more than 15 years of litigation experience, Pearson utilizes strategic litigation, public advocacy, and accountability to ensure that the core constitutional protections remain meaningful in practice, not just in principle.
